Accessibility Statement

“[A]ccess [is] a collective joy and offering we can give to each other”

Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justice

All of us have access needs, but some of our needs are normalised while others are not. In order to centre equity and anti-oppression in our organizing, the organizing team of Sparking Connections is committed to making gathering as accessible as possible, because everyone has value in community. Below are accessibility details for participants.

  • We are using Zoom as our main platform, with options to join by phone or online

  • Integrated, live captions in Zoom

  • Transcripts available after sessions

  • ASL interpretation will be provided for keynote speakers, and is available by request for other sessions with advance notice

  • Sessions will be recorded for later viewing, pending consent from each session's speakers

  • Any written or visual materials will be available in advance

  • Staggered start times to accommodate diverse schedules

  • All content is free of charge to access

  • Our registration form includes an opportunity to identify further access needs
